Summary

We consider the problem of mesh generation with special regard to the simulation of metal forming processes. In this application area one must deal with a remeshing problem due to mesh distortions occurring during the simulation of plastic deformation. A remeshing algorithm is presented whose key part is an algorithm for the generation of all-hexahedral element meshes. The quality of the algorithm is demonstrated by means of various examples.
