CFD - A Timeline - From the 17th Century to the Present Day

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is an important tool for product and process development in the modern computer-aided engineering (CAE) armoury. By encapsulating the fundamental flow equations, CFD computer applications can simulate the free flow of fluids within and around all manner of objects including vehicles, machinery, products, and processes. Modified simulations facilitate improvements to the design and operating effectiveness of the machine or systems – typically by mitigating adverse flow and heat interactions.
