Dr. Kosmas Kritikos from Neural Concept presented "Machine Learning to Empower Engineering Organizations: Technology & Applications." The presentation delved into how Deep Learning is revolutionizing the field of engineering, particularly in the aspects of simulation and optimization. The core of Neural Concept's work involves changing the traditional approaches to engineering product design. They are focused on bringing simulation and optimization processes closer to designers and production lines. One of their key goals is to make the advanced capabilities of Deep Learning accessible to engineering organizations. A significant aspect of their technology is Geometric Deep Learning, which considers the structural elements of design. This approach enables more efficient and accurate simulations, as it aligns closely with the real-world physical attributes of the products. Dr. Kritikos outlined the process of using Neural Concept's technology for simulation. The process begins with a new CAD geometry, followed by conducting a large number of simulations, ranging from 50 to 10,000. These simulations are used to predict various quantities of interest, such as maximum stress and displacement, based on the provided simulation data. The presentation highlighted the simplicity and accessibility of Deep Learning technology for engineering applications.
