Engineering Simulation Quality Management Standard


This NAFEMS Engineering Simulation Quality Management Standard (ESQMS) relates to ISO 9001 for quality management of engineering simulation used in support of assessments of engineered systems.

This standard applies to all methods of engineering simulation computation, from simple hand-calculations to advanced computational calculations.

This document is intended to interpret quality standard ISO 9001:2015 in the particular context of the engineering simulation process. Accordingly, its structure is aligned with that of ISO 9001:2015. It supplements but does not vary ISO 9001.

NAFEMS ESQMS is supported by a companion Guidelines book. These two documents together should contain sufficient information to enable a simulation organization to plan, develop, maintain and improve a quality management system for engineering simulation.

This edition of NAFEMS ESQMS came into effect on 30th March 2020 and cancelled and replaced its predecessor, NAFEMS QSS:2015, which was simultaneously withdrawn.
