5th FENet Technology Workshop

Noordwijk, The Netherlands
October 2003

The 5th FENet Technology Workshops were held at the ESA/ESTEC conference facilities in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

The workshops were attended by 96 people- again, most of them FENet members. The workshops started with a plenary morning session on "Best-practice in the Modelling of Details Common in Fabricated Plate/Shell Construction“ (Education & Dissemination - E&D) followed by break-out group activities to discuss candidate procedural benchmarks.

In the afternoon there were three parallel sessions on DLE, MPA and PSO. Starting equally in the morning session of the second day.

Again there was a plenary session in the afternoon with summary reports and discussions from each Workshop Chairman.

On the second day a very interesting tour of ESTEC facilities was arranged. In addition, NAFEMS Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held in the evening of the first day.

Almost 20 presentations were given supplemented by discussions and summaries in the plenary sessions. Many thanks to ESA/ESTEC for hosting the meeting.
